> Neighborhood Bake Sale

Who doesn't love a good bake sale? Well, the Malatesta family certainly does, especially when it's organized by three amazing girls in the neighborhood, Bridget Lee, Delia Terry, and Maureen Terry.
Despite the warm weather, the girls held a bake sale and managed to raise $100 for the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation. Their acts of kindness and thoughtfulness toward Catherine's memory are inspiring, and their support means the world to the Malatesta family.
That $100, ended up being the very first donation to the foundation!

> Lucky

Sometimes, it feels like the universe is on your side. That's how it felt for the Malatesta family when their friends celebrated a birthday at the MGM Springfield casino and asked Jen what number they should play at roulette.
Jen, raising an eyebrow, replied, "Really?" and suggested they play #16. Later that evening, Jen received a phone call, but she couldn't hear anything on the other end because there was so much screaming. It turns out, their friends had placed ONE bet at the roulette table, on #16, and it hit for $1,600! Catherine was definitely with them that evening, and their friends couldn't even fathom the money going anywhere other than to the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation, making it their second donation. It's an amazing story of luck, friendship, and generosity, and it's just one of the many ways the Malatesta family has been supported by their community.

> In Memory of Barbara V. Goodwin

Catherine’s Grandmother, Barbara V. Goodwin was a strong woman who faced a horrific diagnosis with grace, courage, and gratitude. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in January 2013, and in November 2018, she passed away on Catherine's birthday.
Before she died, Barbara requested that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation. Her request was fitting, and Catherine's divine orchestration certainly played a role in Barbara's passing on Catherine's birthday. The Malatesta family is thankful and appreciative of all the donations made in Barbara's memory, and her legacy will continue to inspire others to support the foundation.
